Maria earned her PhD degree i Biotechnology in 1999 and conducted her post-doc studies at UC Berkeley in California which sparked her interest for innovation and value creation from scientific findings. She has spent most of her career at Lund University, where she for many years promoted academia-industry collaborative projects and taught entrepreneurship and innovation to PhD students. She has a scientific background in protein and enzyme technology and studied Biosciene Business and Marketing at UC Santa Cruz in California. Maria has been the CEO of Enza Biotech since 2012, and is responsible for internal organizational matters and corporate strategy.

Stefan has 20+ years of experience of industrial formulation science and technology within pharmaceutics, cosmetics, personal care, agriculture and other fields of business. His work on non-ionic sugar-based surfactants (now the core technology of Enza) was initiated in the late 90s as a part of his research in drug delivery at Astra (later to become AstraZeneca). In parallel with his activities at Enza, Stefan holds the professorship in Formulation Technology at Lund University.
Maria Viloria has a MSc degree in Biotechnology from Lund University and a research background with special focus on downstream processing. She has around 10 years of industrial experience from the biotech-industry, where she was responsible for large-scale fermentation and downstream processing. Maria Viloria joined Enza Biotech in 2013 and works closely together with Nikolina on process development and up-scaling.
Nikolina has a MSc degree in Biotechnology from Lund University, and did her master thesis project at Cambrex in Karlskoga on the development of large-scale enzymatic catalysis for the production of pharmaceuticals. She joined Enza Biotech in 2013 and works closely together with Maria Viloria on process development and up-scaling.
